1979 was a monumentous year for British Hard Rock with the birth of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal and the subsequent rise of future giants of the genre. After 40 years and 22 studio album releases SAXON remain as one of those giants of British Heavy Metal and to prove the fact the band are back in 2019 to play some iconic shows in iconic venues.
For the first time in a very long time, Saxon return to headlining Düsseldorf’s Mitsubishi Electric Halle (formerly Philipshalle), with a mega show featuring staples of Saxon shows past, the castle set in its enormity together with the classic Eagle Lighting rig!
To add to an already exciting spectacle, some other great bands have been included on this show’s bill to make an event no hard rock fan can bear to miss.
Very special guests will be Düsseldorf’s very own Metal Queen DORO plus NWOBHM icons DIAMOND HEAD & TYGERS OF PAN TANG.
Biff Byford:
“The last time we headlined this venue was in the early 80’s. We are bringing back the huge production and a unique set list for this event, together with our great friend Doro …. gonna be killer!”
